PTO President’s Letter

Dear St. Leo the Great Catholic School Families,
The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is privileged to serve our school community and we look forward to seeing you on Welcome Day, Friday August 23rd, 2019.
The PTO provides opportunities for parents and teachers to work together for the benefit of all the children attending St. Leo the Great Catholic School. Our mission is strengthen parents’ and teachers’ understanding of our children and how they learn as individuals, while promoting the advancement of Catholic education and family life. The PTO is organized under the authority of our Pastor, Father David Whitestone, and operates in accordance with the guidelines established by Saint Leo the Great Parish and the Diocese of Arlington.
IMPORTANT EVENTS PRIOR TO SCHOOL STARTING
New Parent Orientation – Wednesday August 21nd, 2019
All new St. Leo the Great parents are invited to join us for a special welcome and orientation in the Alexander Gym from 7:30pm-8:30pm. This is an excellent chance to meet the faculty and staff, and will also allow you a chance to get a head start on the new school year.
Welcome Back Day – Friday August 23rd, 2019
Welcome Back Day begins our school year by introducing you child(ren) to their new teacher(s) and allowing them to visit their classrooms. Kindergarteners should arrive at 9:00am for a special “Meet & Greet” with their teachers and fellow classmates. Doors open to all other students at 10:00am and will close at 11:30am. This is also the time you child will find their homeroom and advisory. A Middle School Orientation for new and transfer students will also take place from 11:00am-11:30am in Room 20, Mr. Torma’s classroom.
While in the Alexander Gym be sure to turn in your PTO membership form or register/update you contact information electronically at the PTO table. Additionally, plan to pick up your pre-purcahsed school supplies kits, purchase additional school supplies, turn in the lunchroom milk form, purchase Spiritwear, and sign up for clubs, orginizations, and PTO events.
Used Uniform Drop Off & Sale – Thursday August 22nd & Friday August 23rd, 2019
The Used Uniform Drop Off will occur on August 22nd from 11:00am to 2:00pm in the Music Room. If you have any gently used uniforms you no longer need, bring them to the Drop Off to earn credit toward other uniforms you can get at the Used Uniform Sale which will take place on Friday August 23rd from 10:00am to 11:30am. This is an outstanding opportunity to purchase secondhand uniforms at a great price.
