CYO TRACK MEET in OCTOBER, DATE TBA, Falls Church High School ***you must have an adult present in attendance with your athlete, or coordinate with another parent. ALL ATHLETES must have a parent/adult to volunteer FOR 1 EVENT/RESPONSIBILITY for this meet. 2nd graders will have a chance to compete in the spring.

Inclement weather: We run, rain or shine. In the case of potential thunderstorms, heavy rain, or dangerous conditions, a decision will be made and sent via email by 1:30 PM the day of practice.
Parent volunteers: We always need our parents! It GREATLY helps to have one parent stay and help with the kids' getting ready for practice, even for 15 minutes. You can have younger siblings with you. We especiallly need volunteers during meets, 1 per event (CYO requires it). During practice, as long as you are VIRTUS certified, all help is much appreciated, no experience necessary. Also, feel free to run/walk with us. Younger siblings welcome. Please remember that you are responsible for their care and well being.
Uniform for the meet: Black PE shorts, maroon track shirt or pe shirt.
Where to meet and what to wear for practice: Comfortable clothes and sneakers, PE uniform standard: NO spaghetti straps, short shorts, or immodest clothing. We've had students forget their shoes and run in school shoes- that is parent/athlete discretion. Sorry, no bare or sock clad feet. We meet across the speed bump in Area II and proceed down to Olde Parish Hall.
Communication: all changes and communication will take place via email. Any individual concerns can be communicated this way or right AFTER practice as time allows. Please understand that all attention is directed toward the athletes, their workouts, and their safety during practice, so discussions cannot occur during this time.
Extended Day: Extended Day participants should come directly to practice and we will sign them in at the end of practice. They are responsible for taking their belongings with them at that time, but we will do our best to help!
***PLEASE NOTE: All athletes will be signed into Extended Day 15 minutes after practice ends if no parent/guardian/designated person arrives to take them home.
Track and Field is a low pressure CYO sport where the focus is on fitness and fun. Athletes are encouraged but not required to compete in the meets. Good sportsmanship and respectful conduct is expected at all times. Please email dkudipietro@viocvirginia.com with any questions or concerns that you may have. Hope to see you out there!

    GO LIONS!
