Band
Saint Leo the Great School Band is an award winning elementary/middle school band directed by Mr. Barry Ward. They participate in the Diocesan Band Festival as well as one other competition during the school year. The many trophies and awards earned by the band attest to their superiority.

Sept. 1st INSTRUMENTAL DEMONSTRATIONS
Wed. 8:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. - Grade 4 and interested new students
Full band meeting - time T.B.A.
Sept. 8th BAND PARENTS REGISTRATION AND MEETING
Wed. 6:45 P.M. returning parents / 7:30 P.M. new parent / student meeting
Sept. 13th & 15th -BEGINNING OF BAND LESSONS

*Concert Dates
December 12th (Sunday) 1st Parents' Concert at 3:00 P.M.
March 25th - Arlington Diocese Band Festival (afternoon) - date may change
May 10th (Tuesday) Diocese Honor Band Concert
May 18th (Wednesday) School Concert (gym)
May 18th (Wednesday) 2nd Parent's Concert at 7:30 P.M.
May 20th Spring Trip to Kings Dominion or Busch Gardens
*All of the above concert are mandatory attendance
Fund - Raisers: 80% of the profit from the band fund raisers goes toward your student's band trip. The band trip will cost about $110. this year. 2nd Fund raiser is Candy sale in January/February. Both profits may be added together to help pay for band trip.
Schedule of Lessons
Beginner Lessons will start on Monday, September 13th at 9:30 A.M.
Advanced Lessons will start on Wednesday, September 15th at 9:30 A.M.
Full Band Rehearsals
Advanced Band after school 2:45 P.M. - 3:40 P.M.
8th and 7th grade starts on September 15th and each week
8th,7th,and 6th comes on September 22nd
8th,7th,6th and 5th comes on September 29th
* Parent excuse notes are expected for missing after school rehearsals
All students new and returning must register for band in order to take lessons. Please remember to come to Band Parents' Night on Wednesday, September 8th starting at 6:45 P.M. for returning parents/students and 7:30 P.M. for new parents/students.
