 Dear Parents,

We’ve had a different and busy week as we wind down these last few days in kindergarten.  We are busy practicing for graduation which is June 16.  The children have worked very hard and it should be an awesome program.  We hope you will all be able to come.  Grandparents, siblings, aunts and uncles, are all invited to come.  The doors to the gym will open at 8:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 9:00 a.m.  Please enter the building by the gym rather than the front door.  Thanks!

In religion, we are learning that life is a gift from God and that in heaven we will live forever in happiness with God.

Although we have completed all of our Letterbooks, we continue to read and write stories.  The children wrote stories about their favorite Field Day activities. One can tell by reading their stories that a good time was had by all. In today’s yellow envelope you will find your child’s book of “Alphabet Animals”. The children have worked on this project throughout the school year as they have learned each of the letters of the alphabet. We know you will enjoy seeing their work. We have also included a note telling of summer activities to do with your child to keep their skills sharp. We have included Dolch sight word lists for you.

In math we continue to measure and measured weight using a scale and connecting cubes, learned about capacity, and will identify hot and cold temperatures.

As we said earlier, Field Day was a huge success. We were blessed with beautiful weather and wonderful activities. My sincere thanks go to all our parent volunteers who gave their time to help us with this special day. I appreciate you being there to help.

Tomorrow afternoon we will have our Young Author Celebration and ice cream social with K-1. We will begin at 1:45 with our book presentations and the ice cream social will follow at 2:00. We look forward to seeing all of you who are able to join us.

Thank you to everyone who has sent a large shopping bag. We will be sending home school supplies Tuesday June 15th.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend!  May God’s light continue to shine on your child!
