5th Grade Study Skills Series

The 5th grade will be participating in a five-part Study Skills guidance series starting in October. Topics covered include learning styles, organizational skills, note taking, homework, and strategies for studying and test taking.

Study Skills Part 1 – Learning Styles

During this session, we discussed learning styles. Students completed a self-scoring Learning Styles Inventory which allowed them to see which learning style category they preferred. We then discussed the three main learning styles – Auditory, Visual, and Kinesthetic. Students were given a take-home sheet with information on the three learning styles. Homework: Share what you learned today with your parents. Brainstorm how you can use the methods we talked about to help you with your learning style.
