Welcome to Computer Class with Mr. Hedderson!
Kindergarten:
-When
the children come to class, they use a variety of Educational Software
and Games. These programs allow them to become more proficient using
the mouse and keyboard and re-inforce skills learned in the classroom.
From time-to-time an appropriate website may be used for the same
purpose.
First Grade:
-A
big part of first grade is becoming familiar with the keyboard and
using proper typing technique. Thus, many class periods will be devoted
to learning and practicing new keys. Typically, 2 keys will be learned
in a lesson. A website that I have found works well, giving the
students some entertainment while focusing on teaching typing is Dance
Mat Typing. Mixed in with the keyboarding periods are those dealing
with simple graphics and simple text documents.
Second Grade:
-Second
Grade involves taking the skills learned in First Grade and taking them
to the next level. Proper typing is important, and using the same
website for First Grade, many class periods are devoted to
practicing/re-inforcing proper typing technique. The students will
create more complex graphics and text documents, including adding
pictures to text documents.

websites used in class:
The
following sites were used with permission after finishing the
Assignment for the day. Hopefully, it goes without saying, that only
"appropriate" games were permitted. They were added as the children
asked and they were deemed ok.
The following were some Christmas-themed games from Mrs. Allis'
classes, that were popular:
Christmas Games!
Santa Flibriks
Arctic Antics
Bad Elves
Holiday Endurance
Stocking
Sleigh Away
